Life Coach Training Can Be a Phone Call Away!
With the growth of the personal development industry, the ways you can access mentoring and life coaching courses has also grown. One of the most significant areas of change has been the wide range of telephone services that allow you to connect to a mentor or life coach through phone sessions.
This type of contact has a number of advantages over traditional coaching: (1) It allows you to access the services quickly and easily, (2) saves time, and (3) often reduces the cost of counseling. Since verbal communication is needed for effective life coaching, and the keys to successful mentoring is the relationship built between mentor and student, at times this type of coaching can be just as effective as traditional face-to-face coaching.
Personal Choice Is the Key
People decide to engage a coach for a number of different reasons, and the “method of choice” is personal. Before you engage a coach, spend time considering the advantages and disadvantages of different types of coaching and how they apply to your personal circumstances. You may feel that you need an intensive session or series of face-to-face sessions with your coach to begin with, but later you may decide that your coaching sessions could be managed over the phone.
And keep in mind that phone sessions with your coach are going to help you develop other skills most notably good communication skills over the phone that are vital.
Coaching Focuses on YOU
Coaching is designed to enable you to effectively set and meet specific goals in your life, and it’s important that your coaching experience fits around your existing commitments. Coaching sessions over the phone allow you access to the coaching experience when it’s convenient and fits in both your schedule and your coach’s schedule.
Of course, to engage with a coach in this way makes perfect sense for those of us who have busy schedules and families especially those who have young families. However, if possible, it is a good idea to try to combine phone coaching with other more traditional coaching techniques since there are some face-to-face communication skills that need to be a part of your coaching experience.
Other Methods of Coaching
Many coaches offer other access points such as seminars and group sessions that work in conjunction with phone sessions. Having access to your counselor or coach is an important aspect of the experience and phone sessions are able to easily and quickly connect you with a life coach professional.
And don’t forget about the increasing use of Internet communication technology such as video calling and messenger services. You will see more and more coaches offering these services as well.
